BoE Member David Bohn Chides Newspapers Coverage

Allegany County Board of Education vice-president David Bohn was not happy that news accounts of a recent board meeting made mention of his casual attire- and he has since made his displeasure known to the media. The board has scheduled a series of public and closed sessions in the past month at unusual times- with one on a Saturday afternoon- and another on the Friday before the Memorial Day weekend. At that particular session, Bohn wore a T-shirt and shorts, a wardrobe choice that was noted in the Cumberland Times News account of the session the following day. At the next meeting, which was held this past Friday, Bohn chided a Times News reporter for the paper’s coverage…

    Of all the asinine things to put out for public consumption, to have the CTN dwell on shorts and a t-shirt has to be up there in the best of fake news. Trying to create an issue where none exists.
    Wouldn’t the public be better served to have this woman reporter focus on poor cooperation amongst Board members, a grossly overdue audit (possibly two), and the ongoing legal problems?
    Please, leave the fashion police outside the door..

      > Usually people who present a sloppy, casual appearance at their job are usually sloppy an casual about their job. While the sloppy attire was not the most important issue before the community about the chaos at the board, it is worth noting and in and of itself is telling.
