BOE To Hold Special Work Session

The Allegany County Board of Education will hold a special work session today at 5 p.m. at the Central Office, 108 Washington Street. The recently completed legislative audit will be reviewed and the superintendent’s proposed budget will be presented. While this will be the first public presentation of the superintendent’s budget for the next fiscal year- all indications from the County Commissioners is that that school board should not expect any additional local dollars. Last year the county approved a final budget of just under $28 million for the board of education. During a recent budget discussion, County Administrator David Eberly said all departments and agencies that receive county funding- including the school board- are likely to be flat funded…
