December 18th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

The Humane Society of Washington County says 95 malnourished and neglected cows, sheep and goats have been seized from a Boonsboro farm, and the property owner faces animal cruelty charges. Humane Society officials say many of the cows were emaciated. The animals were moved to foster farms. Records show rotting animal carcasses were found inside a barn. According to court records obtained by The Herald Mail ), 60yearold Daniel A. Rohrer Jr. of Boonsboro faces 318 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty. The charges stem from a Nov. 24 search and seizure of livestock at his farm. An attorney for Rohrer said Wednesday that she was not aware of the charges and declined to comment. The attorney said she is filing a restraining order against the humane society for the seizure.
