Breaking and Entering at old Sacred Heart Hospital Site

On Thursday morning, 05/16/2013, the Cumberland Police responded to a reported breaking and entering at the old Sacred Heart Hospital complex, currently owned by the Allegany County Board of Education. Initial responding Officers discovered that unknown suspects had broken a window to gain entry to the building.

Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) were requested and are conducting follow-up investigation into the incident.

A review of video surveillance has led to the identity of four suspects who can be seen walking through different parts of the building. Investigation has determined that the suspects removed a single fire extinguisher and several other miscellaneous items. Nothing else was taken or removed from the building.

The investigation is continuing by C3I. Criminal charges are forthcoming.
