The Allegany County Board of Education voted Tuesday evening to extend the contract of Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Cox.
The vote was 3-1, with Laurie Marchini, Sara Beth Bittinger and Tammy Fraley voting in favor, and Wayne Foote in opposition. Lorelee Farrell was not permitted to vote, due to a ruling by the ethics commission that she had a conflict due to a pending lawsuit she has filed against Cox and the board.
Cox said he would be agreeable to a new four year deal, which will be worked out over the coming weeks.
