The debate over fracking and whether there should be a ban or a moratorium has spread from Annapolis to the local area. On one side, you have the shale gas industry, some business supporters, and most of the elected leadership from District 1 and county commissioners in Allegany and Garrett Countians. On the other side, you have an increasingly vocal group of folks who fear the environmental impact and the effect on water supplies. 1-B Delegate Jason Buckel says he sees a lot of scare tactics that are not backed up by facts:
