The Panera Bread in Abingdon that last month was the site of tragedy now seeks to give back.
Friday through Sunday, 100 percent of the sales at the restaurant will be donated to the Harford County Deputy Sheriff's Benevolent Fund in honor of slain deputies Patrick Dailey and Mark Logsdon.
Dailey was shot by David Brian Evans in the restaurant while speaking with the latter. Logsdon was killed in the ensuing pursuit. Evans, who had outstanding warrants in Harford County and Florida was killed by deputies.
"All of us at Panera Bread continue to extend our thoughts and prayers to the victims of the February tragedy and their families," reads a statement from Panera management. "We are pleased to dedicate our efforts these next few days to such a great charity that supports them and all of our first responders. Our hope is that this weekend will be another step forward in the healing process for our entire community."
