Busy Day For City Police

A busy 24 hours for Cumberland law enforcement. On Friday  City Police served a Criminal Summons on Andrew McDonald, age 20, of Cumberland.  The charges in this matter were filed as a result of bad check investigation handled by Cumberland City Police where McDonald allegedly cashing a personal check with insufficient funds at a business on Industrial Boulevard on July 22, 2013.  McDonald was served and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court. Andrew McDonald, age 20.  Cumberland, Maryland.

CHARGE:  Theft-Less than 1K.

On Friday December 6, 2013, Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on Daquan McGraw, age 19 of Cumberland.  On December 3, 2013, Cumberland Police Officers responded area of Memorial Avenue in regards to a pedestrian who was shot in the arm by what was later learned to be an air soft BB gun.  A short time later, a call was received that a pedestrian was shot on the leg while walking on Frederick Street.  Vehicle information was obtained and it was later located by officers on Valley Street.  McGraw and three juveniles were identified as the individuals who shot at two random victims on Memorial Avenue and Frederick Street. The two air soft BB guns used were located at a residence on Hill Street.  The three juveniles were also charged and referred to the Department of Juvenile Services.  McGraw was served and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.  The victims did not require medical attention.

CHARGES:  Disorderly Conduct 2 Counts.

 

 

On Friday City Police served a Bench Warrant on Robert James, age 49 of Cumberland.  The warrant was issued as a result of James failing to appear for trial for the original charge of Theft on October 10, 2013 at the Allegany County District Court after being formally notified to do so.  James was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing.  He was released on his personal recognizance.
