“Butch” Hendershot Wants To Re-Evaluate How City Advertises

With new technology in communications seemingly advancing every day- Cumberland City Councilman Harold “Butch” Hendershot says its time for the city to re-evaluate how it handles its advertising, moving from newspaper to the internet. Municipalities are required by law in some cases to advertise via the print media for a wide range of matters including public hearings; potential tax increases; and requests for bids. Hendershot said given the trends, perhaps it would be a wiser investment of city dollars to advertise by way of the internet as opposed to newspaper…
