September 8th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

On 09/08/2016 members of the Maryland State Police Apprehension Unit, in coordination with the C3I Warrant/Fugitive Unit, arrested 37 year old Keeshon Marie Davis, of Baltimore and Cumberland, at a private residence in Baltimore, after an Allegany County Grand Jury issued an indictment in connection with an incident which occurred earlier in May of this year.

On Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 6:49 AM, the Cumberland Police responded to a private residence on Baltimore Avenue for a reported breaking and entering. When Officers arrived they learned that a 28 year old female victim had been awakened by Carlos MacKall, who was at the residence to buy illegal narcotics. Shortly after conducting the transaction, MacKall left. According to the victim, as he was leaving, MacKall left the door open and seemed to be stepping around someone just outside the doorway. When the female victim went to close the door she observed a male suspect who was wearing a mask. The suspect produced a handgun and forced his way into the residence.

When the female victim screamed, it woke her 26 year old husband. When the male victim walked into the living room he observed the suspect with a handgun in his hand. The male victim then struck the suspect twice in the face. After continued altercation, the victim was able to push the suspect down a flight of stairs before returning to his residence and calling 911.

When the police arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene. The suspect was described as a black male with a large build. The male victim indicated that the suspect should be suffering from facial injuries as a result of the struggle.

A search of the immediate area was conducted, but the suspect was not located. Law enforcement contacted the Western Maryland Health System Regional Medical Center to alert them to the fact that the suspect may respond to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

A short time later the emergency room contacted the Cumberland Police to report that a subject had just checked into the hospital, suffering from facial injuries. The Cumberland Police responded and requested the assistance of the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I).

C3I Investigators responded to the hospital where they conducted several interviews that helped develop a suspect.

The scene was processed by an Evidence Collection Technician with the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division. Several items of evidence were recovered, including several live .32 caliber rounds, two of which had primer strikes on them, indicating that someone had pulled the trigger, but the bullets malfunctioned and did not fire.

Based on the evidence recovered from the scene and the information developed through interviews, Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect, 29 year old Marcus Logan Vaughn, of Baltimore and Cumberland. Vaughn was charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, 1st Degree Assault, and numerous other related charges at that time.

As part of the continued investigation, Investigators reviewed cell phone records and learned that Davis, who is Vaughn's wife, was present during the incident, and remained outside, acting as a "lookout".

Davis was charged with Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, and related charges. She is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center pending her next court appearance.

The Grand Jury also indicted Vaughn on the original charges, and added the Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery charges. Vaughn is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $100,000.00 bond, pending trial.

The C3I Unit continues to look for 21 year old Carlos Bernard MacKall,  known as "Loso Marley", who was also indicted by the Allegany County Grand Jury in connection with the incident.

The investigation is continuing by the Cumberland Police and C3I.
