C3I Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The Advisory Board of the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) announced that this year marks its 20th anniversary. C3I is comprised of criminal investigators from the Maryland State Police, Cumberland and Frostburg Police, the Allegany County Sheriff’s office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Since its inception in September of 1992, the C3I unit has investigated over 20,600 cases and made over 6,000 arrests. The unit has successfully closed 94% of the cases it has investigated.  Former Allegany County States Attorney Larry Kelly is viewed as having been one of those most instrumental in bringing the unit to fruition.
