Calls For Delegate Don Dwyer To Resign

When the 2014 Maryland General Assembly Session begins on January 8, Anne Arundel County Republican Delegate Don Dwyer is expected to be in his seat at the back of the Maryland House of Delegates Chamber. However, every Friday, as he has since November 8, Dwyer must report to the Anne Arundel County Detention Center, where he is serving a 60 day jail sentence, on weekends, after a plea agreement to settle charges in an August, 2012, drunken boating accident, and another drunk driving arrest in August of this year. Dwyer will continue serving the sentence until mid-March. House Minority Leader Nic Kipke told WBAL News that any lawmaker who is incarcerated should resign…
