Candidates Forum Scheduled

October 12th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

While all three candidates running for a seat on the Cumberland City Council have committed to participate in the upcoming Allegany County Chamber of Commerce/WCBC candidates forum- the same is not the case for those running for U.S. Senate and the Sixth District Congressional seat. City candidates Nicole Wagoner, David Caporale and John Cline have confirmed they will be in attendance. In the Senate race in Maryland, Democratic incumbent Ben Cardin is being challenged by Republican Dan Bongino. A Cardin spokesman said that the Senator likely won’t participate and that to date he has not committed to any forum or debate. The Bongino campaign said that the candidate had a conflict as he would be in Harford County at that time, although no specific conflict event was mentioned. Other party candidates Dean Ahmad and Rob Sobhani have confirmed. In the Sixth District race, 20 year incumbent republican Roscoe Bartlett has agreed to participate, however his democratic challenger John Delaney will not. Ironically Delaney declined to appear at the Cumberland event because of a scheduled 7 p.m. forum in Frederick that evening- an event that Bartlett is also attending.  The Chamber/WCBC Candidates Forum is scheduled for Monday, October 22nd at Allegany College of Maryland.
