Capital Punishment Repeal Possible at General Assembly

Sister Helen Prejean visited Annapolis to call for a repeal of capital punishment in Maryland. The author of "Dead Man Walking" was in attendance for the State of the State address. Prejean also planned to meet with legislators. Governor Martin O'Malley said earlier this month that he believes the General Assembly has the will to ban capital punishment this session. The governor's last effort stalled in 2009- and it will be another battle this year as the repeal has some powerful opponants most notably Senate President Mike Miller…
