Cumberland City Councilman David Caporale has made it official: he will be a republican candidate for Allegany County Commissioner in the 2018 election. Caporale joins incumbent Bill Valentine on the republican ballot, with Michael Leptic of Frostburg on file as a Green Party candidate. The republican race is expected to be a  battle, with incumbents Jake Shade and Creade Brodie Jr having already announced they will seek new terms.
