Cardin Believes North-South Corridor Can Be Accomplished

Long identified as western Maryland’s top economic development and transportation project- Maryland U.S Senator Ben Cardin says he believes the North-South Corridor can become a reality if the House approves the federal transportation legislation that was approved by the Senate last month. The hope is to build a road along U.S. Route 220 between Interstate 68 and Corridor H in West Virginia. So far, the only funding allocated covers the planning process, which selects a preferred corridor.  Cardin, addressing the Greater Cumberland Committee Thursday afternoon at the Cumberland Country Club, said he has no doubt the project can be accomplished…
