Long identified as western Maryland’s top economic development and transportation project- Maryland U.S Senator Ben Cardin says he believes the North-South Corridor can become a reality if the House approves the federal transportation legislation that was approved by the Senate last month. The hope is to build a road along U.S. Route 220 between Interstate 68 and Corridor H in West Virginia. So far, the only funding allocated covers the planning process, which selects a preferred corridor.
