Cardin Relieved At Funding Package

December 14th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

Maryland US Senator Ben Cardin voiced relief that the Senate was able to finally overcome procedural roadblocks to pass a $1.014 trillion funding package that avoids a government shutdown, invests in America, and sets priorities, especially in the areas of medical research, defense, education, national security and human rights, transportation infrastructure and rural communities, among many others. While expressing dismay at many of the anti-environment, anti-immigrant and anti-consumer policy riders that were forced into the bill, Senator Cardin praised appropriators for finding a solution that brought stability through the end of the fiscal year for most federal agencies.
