April 14th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Times News reports, a fire that heavily damaged a Robin Drive residence late Friday morning is believed to be suspicious. Misty Jenkins, an occupant of the residence, escaped the fire without injury and was outside the dwelling when the Ridgeley Volunteer Fire Department arrived. Firefighters responded following a 911 call to the Mineral County emergency center at 9:30 a.m.  Ridgeley Assistant Chief Steve Shipley. Ridgeley Police Officer Joshua Hartman said the property is owned by Joey Woods, who arrived home as firefighters worked to extinguish hot spots in the structure after the blaze was extinguished. Hartman said his initial investigation indicated the origin of the fire was “suspicious in nature” but he declined to elaborate. He requested the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office to conduct a full investigation into the cause of the fire that Hartman said originated in the rear of the structure
