A Cecil County man was arrested and charged this morning after a Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation developed evidence supporting charges of possession and distribution of child pornography. The suspect is identified as Jason Marsh, 41, of Earleville, Md. He is charged with eight counts of distributing and eight counts of possessing child pornography. Marsh was arrested at the scene.

Between June 5 and July 24, the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force located hundreds of child pornography files online that were traced to an IP address belonging to Marsh. The task force executed a search warrant this morning at Marsh’s home. Forensic examiners conducted reviews of Marsh’s computer which resulted in the discovery of several images and videos of child pornography.

The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is comprised of police agencies from around the state. Its primary mission is to protect children from computer-facilitated sexual exploitation. The Task Force works cooperatively with law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to provide resources to combat these crimes. Additionally, the Task Force provides community awareness campaigns helping to prevent the spread of these crimes through education.
