CEDC Continuing To Push Forward With Vision For Revitalized Urban Core

Cumberland economic development officials are continuing to push forward with their vision for a revitalized urban core in the city- and the mayor and city council received an overview during a Wednesday afternoon work session with the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation. The multi-year effort includes plans to renovate the city center from Baltimore Street to Lamont Street. The Maryland Avenue portion of the plans will include designs for the street, along with connecting streets, extending from Exit 43 to Lamont Street. CEDC executive director Paul Kelly said efforts are continuing to purchase the half dozen or so properties in the Rolling Mill area- as well as in other sections of Maryland Avenue…
