Changes To MD Law Enforcement Officers ‘Bill Of Rights” Being Debated

Advocates for police accountability reforms and police representatives are debating changes to the Maryland Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights. Activists say parts of the law place added burdens on police brutality victims. They cite a rule that prevents a police officer suspected of a crime from being interrogated for up to 10 days after an incident. They also are critical of requiring claims to be filed within 90 days. Cary Hansel is a noted civil rights lawyer in Maryland and he says there is no question that changes need to be made…
