Charges Against MedExpress Doctor Dropped

September 3rd, 2014 by WCBC Radio

Sexual assault charges against Dr. William Dando were dropped by local prosecutors yesterday morning, citing an agreement for Dando to stop practicing medicine, and the lack of corroborating witnesses in the case. Dando had been indicted by the Allegany County Grand Jury and was scheduled to stand trial before a jury this morning on allegations of fourth degree sexual offense and perverted practice involving a 41-year-old female patient at MedExpress in LaVale this past spring. WCBC News spoke with that patient’s attorney, Ed Delaney, who has concerns about how Dando was able to get a Maryland medical license despite a 1987 conviction for raping a woman at gunpoint in Florida.
