Despite frigid temperatures, it was a large and enthusiastic crowd on hand downtown Friday evening to welcome Santa Claus to Cumberland. Once again this year, Santa arrived in spectacular fashion during the city’s annual tree lighting ceremony- with a roof top landing and then an escort to Liberty Street where he heard Christmas wishes from area children. Live entertainment included members of the YMCA Fusion Dance Class and the Mountain City Center for the Arts. The program began with a candlelight procession. Mayor Brian Grim served as master of ceremonies, officially lighting the 2014 Cumberland Christmas Tree just after 7 PM…
