Cioni Interested in Future County Consolidation

For the second time in a month, it was suggested during a Cumberland City Council meeting that Allegany County isn’t that interested in working toward consolidating services in order to provide some costs savings. With the city faced with a $1.2 million budget shortfall, a tax hike is being implemented in order to avoid significant cuts in services. In the future, City Councilman Rock Cioni said he would like to see teaming up with the county considered. He says however he has gotten indications that that may not be a realistic option…
