City announces recycling schedule

The new City of Cumberland recycling schedule starts Monday, July 1, 2019.  Recycling collections will be as follows:

Mon/Tue/Wed (first trash day of the week) – Co-mingled containers recycling will be collected

Thu/Fri/Sat (second trash day of the week) – Mixed Paper recycling will be collected

Each and every week recycling collection will follow the above schedule.

 

Co-Mingled Containers Recycling includes: Plastic bottles/containers #1, #2, #4, #5 & #7, glass bottles/jars, metal cans. Simply place items in the Burgmeier’s recycling bin and set out on the curb on recycling day.  No plastic bags in recycling bin please.

 

Mixed Paper Recycling includes: Newspapers, junk mail, office paper, magazines, emptied/flattened cardboard (no larger than 24” X 24”). All items shall be bundled with twine or placed in a paper bag. No unbroken-down or large cardboard boxes accepted (they do not fit in the recycling compartment). 

 

The City of Cumberland’s trash and recycling collection is provided by Burgmeier’s Hauling, Inc. 

 

Recycling is collected at the same time as trash within the same truck along each route following the recycling schedule.
