City Approves Change Of Street Improvement Contractors

The Cumberland Mayor and City Council this week approved a change in contractors to handle approximately a million dollars in street improvements across the city. John DiFonzo, city engineer, said that originally Carl Belt Paving was awarded the contract, but could not meet the paving commitment in a timely manner due to a growing backlog of work for the Maryland State Highway Administration. I.A. Construction has stepped in and will complete the contract under the same terms that Belt had agreed too. One of the priority projects will be historic Washington Street…
