April 12th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

A month after city officials complained that Cumberland Fire Department ambulance crews were being relied on too heavily for calls ourtside the city limits- Chief Donnie Dunn reports that crews responded to 33 calls outside the city limits in March. The Cumberland Times News reports the department logged 438 ambulances calls for the month, an average of more than 17 calls per day. In addition, there were seven other occasions when mutual aid from the volunteer companies was received by the city. The mutual aid into the city took place during times when all three city ambulances were busy on other incidents, Dunn said.
