City Looking To Convey Properties To Local Nonprofit Organization

The city of Cumberland is looking to convey more than two dozen East Side properties to a local nonprofit organization. City Administrator Jeff Rhodes says the action will allow the mayor and council to transfer maintenance responsibilities while increasing marketing opportunities for the parcels. The majority of the properties are vacant lots situated in difficult locations. Located on Waverly Terrace and Baltimore Avenue, the city is conveying the properties to the Cumberland Neighborhood Housing Service.
