Just after 7 Friday evening, officers from the Cumberland Police Department were dispatched to a North Mechanic Street business for a destruction of property. Officers arrived and observed several males holding another male subject on the ground. Officers separated the subjects; spoke with the owner of the business, and witnesses. Officers learned that Brian Jermaine Green was inside the business asking patrons for money, and appeared intoxicated. The business owner advised Green that he needed to leave the property. Green refused and was escorted off the property by the owner and another employee. At that time Green became disorderly and broke a window out of the business. The property owner and his staff restrained Green until police arrived to avoid any further damage to the business. Officers took Green into custody without incident and he was transported to the Cumberland Police Headquarters for processing. Green was later released pending trial in District Court.
