City man charged with breaking and entering

Investigators with the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I) arrested 37 year old Corey Lucas Klingler, of Cumberland, on Wednesday, 01/18/2012, after a warrant had been issued for his arrest in connection with a recent breaking and entering which occurred at the Schwab Company warehouse in the Potomac Industrial Park. Klingler was arrested at a private residence in Cumberland.

 

            The breaking and entering was discovered the morning of 12/05/2011 when employees entered the building. They discovered that someone had broken into the building and had entered the air conditioning and heating units and removed the condensers and cooper tubing. Copper pipe was cut and removed from other areas of the building, and a commercial paint sprayer was also taken. The total loss was valued at over $74,000.00.

 

            The Maryland State Police responded to the scene, and a joint investigation with C3I was initiated. Klinger was developed as a suspect after Investigators obtained evidence linking him to the crime.

 

            Klingler was charged with multiple counts of Burglary and Theft. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance, and is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $35,000.00 bond pending his next court appearance.
