On Saturday, September 15th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Carl Jeffrey Jones. The warrant was issued by District Court related to investigation that took place back on September 11th, 2018 where the Cumberland Police Department responded to Columbia Street for an assault. When officers arrived, they talk with the victim that alleged he was punched in the stomach by Jones because he was a witness to another incident that is pending in court. Jones was charged with assault, intimidating a witness, disorderly conduct, and obstructing justice. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.
