An Arrest Warrant was served on Donald Garland, 28, of Cumberland charging him with two counts of Assault Second Degree, and one count of Reckless Endangerment. The charges stem from an investigation initiated by the Cumberland Police Dept on 07/26/12 when Officers responded to the 700blk of Fayette St in reference to an assault. Upon arrival Officers interviewed the victim and several witnesses who stated that Garland had struck the victim several times and threw her up against a wall while strangling her. The victim sustained minor injuries consistent with her account of the incident. The victim did not require medical attention. Garland was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond pending his next appearance at District Court.
