The Cumberland Times News reports a 49-year-old city man charged with the rape of a 13-year-old girl is scheduled to stand trial in Allegany County on Aug. 13, according to court records. Gregory Allen Lincoln Sr. of Maryland Avenue was arrested in January when members of the C3I Warrant/Fugitive Unit served him with a warrant charging him with second-degree rape, second-degree assault, kidnapping a child under age 16 and false imprisonment. The arrest resulted from a joint investigation by Cumberland Police, the Allegany County Department of Social Services-Child Protective Services and the C3I Unit into allegations that Lincoln had engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a 13-year-old Cumberland girl during October at a private residence in Cumberland. Interviews with the victim and other witnesses conducted by C3I provided enough information to confirm the victim’s statement and obtain the warrant for the arrest of Lincoln, who is a registered sex offender. Lincoln was granted pretrial release in February after posting $25,000 bond following a district court bail review, according to electronic court records.
