City Officials Finalize New Housing Project

Some changes to the original overall plan- primarily involving a transfer of a plot of land- has Cumberland City officials poised to finalize the  Cumberland Meadows Apartment project with the project developer and Allegany College of Maryland. The developer, Woda, met with city representatives as well as officials from the college on Monday- presenting a modified arrangement which includes donating a portion of the land originally under Woda’s control over to the college. A number of other changes were suggested as well, and on Tuesday the Mayor and Council was advised of the amended plans during a special afternoon meeting. Cumberland Meadows consists of a four-story apartment complex located near Allegany College of Maryland. The complex will feature 64 one- and two-bedroom units for rent. City Solicitor Mike Cohen said that pending all parties signing off on the paperwork within the next few days,  all of the hurdles have been cleared…
