City Officials To Meet With CSX Representatives Thursday

Cumberland officials walked away from a 2 and a half hour meeting with CSX representatives in early July  optimistic that the groundwork had been put in place for  both short and long term solutions to the Westside bridge issues. More will be known on Thursday afternoon as the two sides will have a follow-up meeting once again at City Hall.  While none of the CSX owned bridges have re-opened, Mayor Brian Grim said there is plan now on the table calling for a temporary structure that will allow for access in and out of the Westside- while at the same time some parameters have been discussed that could represent a more permanent solution. How CSX officials respond to the recommendations from the city remains unclear. At this point the issue of bridge ownership still remained unresolved…
