City Police Charge Woman With Assault

On Saturday January 31, 2015, at 4:16 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a private residence on Utah Avenue for an Assault.  Investigation into this matter revealed that Kaitlyn Thomas, age 22, engaged in an argument with a male victim whom she resides with.  The argument escalated which led to Thomas allegedly punching the victim in the face.  The victim called 911 for police assistance and upon doing so Thomas picked up a knife and threatened to stab him.  The victim was directed by the 911 dispatcher to go to his room and lock himself inside until the police arrived.  The police arrived and observed visible injuries to the victim indicating an assault had taken place.  As a result of the investigation, Thomas was placed under arrest and was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  She was later taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners Office for a bond hearing and was held on a $5,000.00 dollar bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.  The victim did not require medical attention.
