City police handle theft and trespassing incidents

THEFT

On Friday  at 9:09 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to the rear of a commercial business on Industrial Boulevard for a reported Theft.  Upon arrival, Officers observed Jeff and James Whetstone, both of Cumberland, pushing a shopping cart containing scrap metal.  Both individuals also possessed cutting tools to cut the found metal.  Investigation revealed that both individuals stole the metal from the business and as a result, were placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where they were processed, served and criminally cited pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

Jeff Whetstone, age 29.  Cumberland, Maryland.

CHARGE:  Theft less than $100.00 dollars.

James Whetstone, age 31.  Cumberland, Maryland.

CHARGE:  Theft less than $100.00 dollars.

 

TRESPASSING

On Saturday  at 12:03 am, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a business on Thomas Street for a Trespassing complaint.  Upon arrival Officers contacted Sam Ours who was on the premises of the establishment after being previously notified that he was not allowed on the property.  Ours was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was criminally cited and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGE:  Trespass
