City Police Make Assault Arrest At Maryland Avenue Apartment

On December 31, 2015 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to 947 Maryland Avenue, Apartment #3 for a domestic disturbance. Upon the officers arrival they were met by two tenants who reside in the apartment complex. Officers were advised that a male tenant, who resides in apartment #3, came to their apartment covered in blood. They observed the male to have a deep laceration on his forehead. The male subject advised them that his girlfriend, Sherry Lynn Johnson had hit him in the head with an unknown object. Officers were able to contact the male victim at the scene and observed him to be covered in blood. While officers were speaking with the victim he advised the officers that he was arguing with Johnson when she threw a glass object at him causing the injury. Officers were able to locate Johnson inside the residence and placed her under arrest. The Cumberland City Fire Department also responded to the scene and transported the male victim to the hospital for treatment. Johnson was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing. At the time of this release Johnson was awaiting a bond hearing.

Arrested: Sherry Lynn Johnson Age: 44 of Cumberland, Maryland

Charge: 2nd Degree Assault
