City Police Make CDS And Warrant Arrests

On January 3, 2019 at 12:04 a.m., a Cumberland City Police officer on patrol observed a vehicle in the area of Valley Street and Henderson Avenue with an equipment violation.  A traffic stop was conducted and upon contacting the occupants, the officer detected the odor of CDS. A probable cause search was conducted and an amount of CDS and paraphernalia were located. Subsequently, the operator Emily Malamis, age 21 of Cumberland was arrested and charged with CDS possession not marijuana and possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Malamis was later taken for an Initial Appearance and released on her own recognizance pending trial. 

 

Arrest Warrant Served

On January 4, 2019 the Cumberland City Police served an Arrest Warrant on Devin Jacobs, age 26 of Wiley Ford, WV. The Warrant stemmed from Jacobs failing to appear in District Court on July 3, 2018 for the charge of Theft under $100.  Jacobs was served with the Warrant and transported District Court for his Initial Appearance.  At the conclusion of his hearing he was remanded to the Allegany Detention Center on $1000 bond.
