City Police Make CDS Arrests

Officers with the Cumberland Police were working a Street Crimes Interdiction assignment when they observed what appeared to be a drug transaction take place in the area of Fourth St and Grand Ave. Officers then contacted one of the subjects who were seated in a vehicle. Officers began speaking with the subject who pulled a small baggie containing CDS out of his pocket. Officers then ordered the subject to exit the vehicle in which he did not comply. A brief struggle ensued and officers were able to place the subject under arrest. The subject was identified as 35 year old Shannon Lee Cline of Cumberland. Cline was transported to Police Headquarters where he was charged with one count of CDS Possession not marijuana, attempting to destroy evidence, Obstruction and Hindering, and Resisting arrest. Cline was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was held on a $5,000 bond pending trial in District Court.

Additional Officers were able to locate a vehicle also involved in this incident in which a traffic stop was conducted. Officers utilized a Cumberland Police K-9 Officer to perform a free air sniff of the vehicle which indicated a positive alert. A search of the vehicle was conducted. As a result Officers placed 32 year old Sarah Peterson of Cumberland under arrest. Peterson was transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where she was charged with one count of CDS Poss not marijuana and distributing CDS not marijuana. Peterson was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where she was held on a $35,000 bail pending her next court appearance.
