City Police Make Multiple Assault Arrests

Assault Arrest

On February 14, 2018 at approximately 8:02 AM, the Cumberland Police responded to the 700 block of Columbia Avenue for a disturbance.  When police arrived they met with an adult female who stated she and Scott Allen Porter got into an argument.  The argument escalated when Porter slammed a door, striking the female in the face.  A juvenile female then opened the door for the adult female to come back inside the residence.  As the adult female went back inside the residence, Porter shoved her to the ground and began kicking her in the face.  He then also struck the juvenile female in the face.  Porter was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of 2nd Degree Assault.  Porter was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on a bond of $5000.  He was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his next appearance in District Court.  Neither victim required medical treatment as a result of the assault.

Assault Arrest

On February 15, 2018 at approximately 1:15 AM the Cumberland Police responded to the 400 block of Springdale Street for a report of a stabbing.  When police arrived they found an adult male victim had a laceration to his hand.  Investigation revealed the male victim and Christina Ann Fitzpatrick had been involved in an argument inside a residence.  Fitzpatrick left but returned a short time later with what was described as a utility knife.  She began arguing with the victim and lunged at him with the utility knife.  The victim attempted to grab the utility knife from Fitzpatrick, but was cut on the hand.  Police arrested Fitzpatrick and charged her with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, and Reckless Endangerment.  Fitzpatrick was taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was held on a bond of $3000.  She was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await her next appearance in District Court.  The Cumberland Fire Department responded to the scene and provided medical treatment to the victim for a non-life threatening injury.
