City Police Make Pair Of Friday Arrests

Trespassing Arrest

At approximately 1658hrs, officers from the Cumberland Police Department were dispatched to a Howard Street address for a possible theft in progress. Officers arrived and located Joseph Henry Dowell on the construction site at this address. The site is clearly marked no trespassing. Officers questioned Dowell about being on the property and removing items. Upon the conclusion of their investigation officers placed Dowell under arrest for trespassing on posted property. He was transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Dowell was later released from custody pending trial in District Court.

Charge: Trespassing on posted property

 

Warrant Arrest

Officers located Jason Robert Edwards during a traffic stop on Lamont Street. Edwards was wanted in connection with a theft that occurred in Garrett County. Edwards was placed under arrest without incident and transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Edwards was taken before the District Court Commissioner and held on a $1,500.00 bond.

Charge: Theft over $1,000.00
