City Police Make Theft; Tampering Arrests

THEFT

On Thursday August 18, 2016, Cumberland City Police responded to a private business on Virginia Avenue for a reported Theft.  Investigation into this matter revealed that DiJuan Bailey, age 23 of Frostburg, Maryland, was observed by store personnel taking store owned items and concealing them in his clothing.  Bailey was detained by employees until officers arrived.  He was criminally cited and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGE:  Theft less than $100.00 dollars. 

 

VEHICLE TAMPERING

On Thursday August 18, 2016, Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on Jason Cristofori, age 39 of Cumberland, Maryland.  The warrant was issued as a result of an August 15th 2016 investigation where officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Fayette Street for a tampering with motor vehicle complaint.  Investigation into this matter revealed that Cristofori was observed by the victim tamper with and enter his vehicle.  The victim yelled at Cristofori who then fled the area.  Cristofori was served and released pending a trial at the Allegany County District Court.
