City Police Make Warrant & Intoxicated Disorderly Arrests

On October 3rd, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Corey Dillan Smith.  The warrant was issued by District Court based on an investigation that took place back on September 26th, 2019.  On that date, Smith allegedly cashed a check made out to the someone else at the Potomac Federal Credit Union and deposited it in his back account and then made a cash withdrew from an ATM.  He was charged with theft, theft scheme, forgery, and issuing a false document.  Smith was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center to await a bond review before the District Court Commissioner.

Intoxicated Disorderly Arrest

 

On October 3rd, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the Amtrak Station for the report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance on the train.  When officers arrived, contact was made with the train conductor who pointed out the male to officers.  Officers then made contact with the male who was identified as Amado Verduzco-Ramirez and told him he had to exit the train at the request of Amtrak.  At this time, he became to cause a disturbance and assaulted another passenger in the presence of officers.  Verduzco-Ramirez was arrested and charged with disorderly intoxication, assault, and disturbing the peace.  He was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center to await a bond review before the District Court Commissioner.
