City Police makes multiple assaults arrests

On Friday,  2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Frederick Street address to investigate a reported assault.  The circumstances around the alleged incident were reported to police by the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center when a female victim went to the Emergency Room for treatment of her injuries.  The female victim stated that she was chocked to almost unconsciousness and thrown to the floor by her boyfriend; Travis Lee Linder earlier in the day.  Officers and medical staff at the hospital did observe injuries to the victim consistent with her statement.  Officers then responded to a Frederick Street address to speak with Linder about the incident.  Linder was arrested and charged with assault 1st and 2nd degree, reckless endangerment, and false imprisonment.  He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.

Assault Arrest

 

On Friday,  the Cumberland Police Department responded Park Street residence for the report of an assault.  When officers arrived, they made contact with a male who had a visible head wound.  Officers learned that the male victim had been struck in the head with a heavy glass object by Kathy Louis Bennett.  Bennett was located inside of the residence and admitted to officer that she struck the victim with a glass candle holder.  She was arrested and charged with assault 1st and 2nd degree.  Bennett was taken before the District Commissioner and was remanded to the

 

Allegany County Detention Center held on a temporary commitment.
