City Police Respond to Domestic Incident; Serve Warrant

Domestic Arrest:

At approximately 5:37 p.m., officers from the Cumberland Police Department were dispatched to a Race Street residence for a report of an assault.  Officers arrived and made contact with a male and a female inside the residence.  Officers observed injuries to both subjects and found that a mutual assault occurred between both parties prior to their arrival.  At conclusion of the investigation officers took both Amanda Sue Llewellyn and Eric Matthew Llewellyn into custody.  Both subjects were transported to Cumberland Police Headquarters for processing.  Both subjects were taken before the District Court Commissioner where they were released pending trial in District Court.

Warrant Arrest:

At approximately 9:11 p.m., an officer from the Cumberland Police Department observed a male subject in a River Avenue business that had two outstanding warrants.  William Franklin Broadus Jr. was taken into custody without incident.  A District Court warrant was issued for Broadus stemming from an assault which occurred in the 1900 block of Frederick Street in November of 2015.  A second warrant which was issued by the Circuit Court of Allegany County after Broadus failed to appear at an initial appearance where he had been charged with 1st degree assault stemming from a September 2015 incident. Broadus was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on a $5,000.00 bond on the District Court Warrant and held without bond on the Circuit Court warrant.
