On Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department serve a warrant on Jamie Bates Charlton charging him with assault, robbery, sex offense 4th degree, threat of arson, and theft. The warrant was issued by District Court when application was made by a male victim that alleged that back on May 6th, 2019, Charlton grabbed him the area of the Canal and threatened to burn down his house if he told anyone. He also alleged that the Charlton stole money from his person during the incident. Charlton was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center pending trial.
