City Police Serve Assault Criminal Summons

On Monday, August 28, 2017, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Christopher Platter.   The summons was issued in connection with an incident that occurred on August 24, 2017.  On this date at approx. 9:00 PM, police officers responded to a Park Street business in reference to an assault complaint.  During the investigation, a manager of the business explained that the two subjects involved, one of them being Platter, had created a disturbance inside the store in front of other customers.  It was reported that the subjects had been yelling at each other and they had also knocked over shelving inside the store.  Platter had already fled the area prior to police arrival.  An application for charges was filed against Platter at the District Court of Allegany County resulting in a criminal summons being issued.  Platter was released pending trial after being served.

CHARGES:  Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace
