City Police Serve Criminal Summons On Several Motor Vehicle Charges

On Wednesday July 31st, 2019, The Cumberland City Police served a Criminal Summons on Ronald Glenn Caldwell, age 56, of Cumberland MD. The summons was in reference to an incident that occurred on July 3rd, 2019. During that incident, The Cumberland Police responded to the 200 block of Virginia Ave for the report of a motor vehicle crash. A witness on scene was contacted who stated they observed a vehicle traveling on Virginia Ave strike a parked vehicle. They stated the suspect vehicle left the scene without stopping. The witness was also able to provide a picture of the suspect vehicle and description of the suspect driver. With that information, officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle and driver a short time later. Caldwell admitted at that time that he was driving and had struck the parked vehicle and left the scene without stopping. As a result of the investigation, Caldwell was charged with numerous traffic charges including driving on a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident. Caldwell was served and released, pending trial in District Court.

Charges: Driving on Suspended License, Failure of vehicle driver to stop after unattended property accident, Failure of vehicle driver in accident to notify Owner of property damage, Failure of vehicle driver to furnish required written ID info on unattended damaged vehicle
