City Police Serve Warrant & Criminal Summons

On Tuesday, December 20, 2016, the Cumberland Police Department served a Washington County bench warrant on Clifton Lee Martin.  The warrant was issued as a result of Martin failing to appear for his court case.  Martin was located as an occupant of a vehicle during a traffic stop.  He was placed under arrest, processed, and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED

 

On Wednesday, December 21, 2016, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Rodney Lee Smith.  Charges against Smith were filed by the Cumberland Police Department in connection with an incident that occurred on December 14, 2016.  Officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to an Arch Street residence where the victim reported that her vehicle was missing and that she believed that the suspect took it to West Virginia.  Smith and the vehicle were later located in Wiley Ford, WV.   A criminal summons was issued by the District Court of Allegany County, charging Smith with Unauthorized Removal of Property.  Smith was served with the Criminal Summons and released pending trial.
